With particular joy and emotion, happiness and satisfaction, I have the honor, as the president of Kaliana Community Council, of greeting the decision of our members for the creation of our official web page in the Internet.

Kaliana is very beautiful village that is surrounded by green forest and is built in the western side of Karkotis, with its own old history, the preservable popular architecture, the landscapes with the wild natural beauties, the unique hospitality of the residents, it has become an ardent desire for a lot of our compatriots that search desperately in order to acquire a place to build their shelter wanting to escape from the daily stress of the cities, feel calm and rest.

The traditional neighborhoods with the narrow streets, the wooden balconies, the stone houses with the wooden and stone stairs with the inclining roofs, the rich vegetation, the clean environment, the waters, the fruit trees, the wild flowers, the big "kavatzia", the tall oak trees, "latzies", "myrounia", "spatzies", "tremithies", are mixed together with the immense olive groves giving a fantastic panorama of color and smells' combination and invite you to visit the village.

The very old Byzantine royal rhythm church of Agioi Ioackim and Anna with its ancient murals, the temple of Virgin Mary Iamatiki and the well-known " Hani" with the arches that dominates imposingly at the entrance of the village, constitute a pole of attraction for the tourists that get excited with the unrivaled cultural heritage.

Therefore I would like to welcome you to our web page and it is my conviction that your tour will make you to visit our village and experience the special hospitality that is offered by the residents of Kaliana.
